Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
Eligible small-scale renewable energy systems are entitled to create small-scale technology certificates (STCs). The number of STCs are based on the system’s location, installation date and the amount of electricity generated or displaced. Small-scale renewable energy systems that are eligible for STCs include:
| Wind systems
| Hydro systems
Once STCs have been created and validated, they act as a form of currency and can be sold for a rebate against the cost of purchasing and installing the system. Alternatively, they can be transferred to other individuals and businesses at a negotiated price. At Power Saving Centre Canberra, we give our customers the option to sign their STCs over to us, so they receive the full rebate without the hassle of trying to sell the STCs after their system has been installed.
